There aren't many people in this world that have captured the essence of life quite like Freddie Mercury. A man with such presence, that when Freddie performed the world would stop and listen.
It was during one such performance in July 1986 at Wembley Stadium that our very own legend, Tony Mottram, captured this wonderfully descriptive image which simply exudes the energy that Freddie brought to the stage whenever he played. The driving force behind Queen and the pied piper to his millions of adoring fans worldwide.
Born and raised in India, Freddie first move to England at the age of 17. Having taken up the piano at the age of 12 and forming his first band whilst at a British Boarding School in Mumbai, Freddie was destined to make music his life. It was in 1970 Mercury joined Brian May and Roger Taylor and in 71' John Deacon. Queen was born.
Freddie is undoubtedly remembered as one of the greatest stage performers of all time. His flamboyant and theatrical style thrilled crowds from every corner of the globe and his incredibly inventive and original songwriting has enthralled fans for decades. Freddie was quite simply an anomaly., an incredible one off.
If you were lucky enough to have been around during the 70's and 80's to see Queen and Freddie do their thing then just hold that memory dear.
