Crawford Smith

Performing in bands from the age of 14, a self employed guitar & bass tutor since 2001 and a student of the music business school since 2003 (currently enrolled @ Stow College, Glasgow). Crawford fully understands the commitment & creative energy required to be successful in the music industry.

As well as writing & recording & performing his own folk/rock music, Crawford also hosts his own weekly Up & Coming Acoustic night @ LINEN 1906, Shawlands and is currently employed by the Free Candy Sessions to host their Saturday night showcase gigs @ Repertoire, Charing cross, Glasgow.

Recording is currently underway for Crawfords self funded debut solo album which is due for release early 2007. Produced by Al Wright in conjunction with his new College label “Scheme records”

Crawford is also busy planning his first mini UK tour for 2007 “Inverness to London

The great thing about a Free Candy Sessions event is that it is a casual affair. You sometimes get unadvertised changes. Tonight, Crawford Smith hijacks the microphone and blesses us with a couple of songs just to get things going. He is a young guy with a pile of that nervous energy that only the young can have. He plays with fire in his belly and has an almost mercurial presence. "Become One" impresses us and we make a mental note to investigate his music further.
